The objective was to explore how artificial intelligence can be designed and deployed in ways that are resilient and energy-efficient, reducing the environmental footprint while supporting long-term development outcomes. Key themes included efficient AI architectures, sustainable digital infrastructure, and the role of AI in supporting climate resilience and inclusive growth, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030, the Saudi Green Initiative, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Leaders from government, academia and industry introduced the 'sustainable-by-design' model, embedding efficiency, inclusivity and environmental sustainability, around the guiding question of how to ensure AI systems are not only powerful but also responsible, sustainable and human-centred. Speakers included Abdulrahman Habib (ICAIRE), Leona Verdadero (UNESCO Programme Specialist), Per Ola Kristensson (University of Cambridge), and Faisal Al Azib (Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network Saudi Arabia). Confirmed private sector participants included SAUDIA Airlines, CEER Motors, KAUST, Jacobs, Accenture, Tanmiah Food Company, RECYCLEE, Remedium and IDOM.
